In music, there’s always a "Beginning". Mine started in 1964. That summer I started my first band in high school, "The Esquires". It was a four-piece group that lasted 6 months. Then came "The Knight Raiders" with Jim Balcer, Mike Bowman, and a few others. The group really got my interest in music. Then in 1966, "The House of Lords" was formed consisting of Rick Burda, Steve Harnack, Terry Pawlack, Joe Miserendino, Jerry Loy and me. My brother Dennis had a group called "The Genetic Drift". It was around that time that I met Bruce Funk and Bobby Pitcher, who played with "The Links".

It really got exciting when "garage bands" played in local ‘battle of the bands’ competition. By then, "The House of Lords" became the "Resurrection of Pigby Crabshaw". My cousins Joe and Ross Miserendino, Jerry Loy, Mark Wagner, and Terry Pawlak played with "Genetic Drift" and "Necropolis Nee" (The Links). Upon graduating high school in 1968, Bruce joined "The Resurrection". We played a few gigs until Bruce, Bobby, and me formed "Sweet Ironwood". Good music, great band, but again short lived. I had a year and a half break before Denny and I joined "Virgin Wool". We added horns, my cousin Joey, Vince Basci and changed the name to "Coyy".

This had to be the pinnacle of my musical career…playing in bands. We signed with Silver Fox Productions and traveled all through the Midwest. Every musician should experience that lifestyle at least once. The last group I played in was "Deep Summit Band". Again Denny and I, with a group of friends started playing. I stopped playing in 1976. Getting married, having children and working full time, everyone was busy with their lives.

Fast-forward to 1999…my girlfriend Rhonda (whom I have to thank for her patience and persistence) prodded me to get out, call the guys and start playing again. In time, Denny and Frank, Bruce and Bobby with Jim formed the "Lusty Muttz", and the rest is still being written. I know that the ‘Muttz really enjoy what we are doing. Family, friends, and fans make playing fun again. Thank you all for making it fun and enjoyable once again.

P.S. Sorry it took 2 ½ years for my bio. The ‘Muttz told me to make it a short story and not a novel. Thanks again!
